Answer for 47?
Quote from Katrina on Friday 22nd May, 2020, 23:45On the last pages there are various numbers with dots but one of those numbers is in there twice meaning there is no 30 and there are two 31's. We entered the two possible answers and was told it was incorrect for both. Help?

Quote from paul.mueller on Saturday 23rd May, 2020, 13:51Hi, you can find this hint on the webpage for entering the solution:
Find the words, in the right order, then put the initial letters together.
If I do as adviced, then I would get a four letter word.
The number of dots indicates the position of the initial letter in the solution
But I am having the same problem, more precisely:
I found these words: •••13="Their", ••••15="Homes", •30="Decided" (or •31="Find") and ••41="Promised".
After rearrange
solution must be "dpth" ( or "fpth"). COMPUTER SAYS NO
Any hint?

Quote from Katrina on Saturday 23rd May, 2020, 19:37I can't give too much detail to this answer as I'm not able to hide the information behind a spoiler, but we worked out that the dots actually represent which letter to use in the respective words. We have worked out a logical answer but it doesn't work when we input it.
Any further thoughts?

Quote from paul.mueller on Saturday 23rd May, 2020, 23:51For spoiler use "[s poiler]text to hide
" without the space in "spoiler".
I have taken the same approach, but
free
does not work either, nor do all permutations. Neither do all words with 4 letters ending in "th".
Are there any abbreviations that might fit?

Quote from paul.mueller on Sunday 31st May, 2020, 22:21Does it make sense to rearrange the complete words and get with
•••13="Their", ••••15="Homes", •30="Decided" (or •31="Find") and ••41="Promised"
--> find their promised homes
But I don't know the answer to this.By the way are my words correct?

Quote from hiker on Friday 6th August, 2021, 13:12I didn't get it, but I got the answer from the authors. First of all, at least my edition seems to contain a very bad typo: the first single dot belongs to the actual number 31, while it is at the moment at what is supposed to be the number 30!! So move the dot two entries to the right!
The solution is NOT a word, just a random set of characters as far as I can tell ... could be a rare surname.

The instructions on the page where you can enter the key are (taking the typo into account) pretty accurate.

Take the first letter of the compound words in the order indicated by the dots.
I have to admit that typo broke the end pretty badly 🙁
