'These' implies plural so asking for singular doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And gauntlets are more logical since you are talking about jousting I assume.

Yes, you don't wear gloves with armour, though you might wear them under armor. And wearing only one glove became a thing in the 1980s, and I didn't see a lot of tournaments in MJs HisStory.
Should have been a plural answer, and it should have actually been correct.
